Product Manager - Payments

About the Role

At Xendit we are looking for a Junior Product Manager to join the Cards Acquiring team. You will be working on the core rails that allow businesses across APAC (and soon LatAm) to accept payments seamlessly.

• Work on core payments rails and features such as Smart Routing, Recurring Payments, 3DS, and Mobile Wallets (Apple/Google Pay).
• Solve complex routing puzzles across multiple upstream providers to maximise authorization rates, cost efficiency, and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, banking partners and schemes.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level requirements into detailed PRDs and tickets; clarify logic for features like 3DS, recurring billing, and wallet integrations.
• Assist in refining routing logic to determine best transaction paths based on cost, authorization rates, and compliance rules.
• Verify implementations against scope; act as first line of defense before feature launches.
• Manage scheme compliance: handle scheme forms, track changes from banking partners, and manage compliance communication.
• Act as subject-matter expert for L2 Support and Sales on complex card failures and 3DS questions.
• Use Looker and Databricks to monitor authorization rates and transaction health; collaborate to improve end-to-end funnel visibility and find drop-offs.
• Perform cost analyses to understand actual costs.
• Implement automation, efficiency, and AI-driven solutions to streamline repeatable processes where applicable.

Qualifications

• Comfortable reading API documentation, using Postman to test requests, and creating flow diagrams to visualise system architecture.
• Data-driven: know SQL (or eager to learn) and able to investigate why metrics move.
• Detail-oriented: organised and able to handle administrative rigor with banking partners and schemes.
• Clear communicator: able to explain complex payment flows to non-technical merchants and discuss technical constraints with engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Fintech, specifically Payment Gateways or Acquiring.
• Familiarity with ISO 8583, 3DS protocols, or Card Scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard).
• Experience with Databricks and/or Looker.
