About the Role

The Senior IT Operations Engineer will supervise, analyze, and support junior colleagues and teams to enhance IT-related operations, ensuring seamless functioning of technology infrastructure and proactively identifying areas for improvement and optimization in IT infrastructure and operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of IT operations across people, processes, and technology.
• Provide counsel and guidance to align IT operational systems with applications and other systems.
• Supervise and support teams in designing, improving, and developing IT operation processes for continuous efficiency.
• Initiate improvements across batch and backup management, operation management, and IT resiliency.
• Supervise and enhance backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and adherence to RPO/RTO targets.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and applications to minimize downtime.
• Support and perform scheduling and execution of batch jobs to meet business needs.
• Assess system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimization strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, guide resolution, and minimize business disruption.
• Collaborate to develop playbooks/work instructions to improve proactive incident handling and reduce incidents.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize IT needs aligned with business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in IT service or IT operations.
• Understanding of IT operation management and core technologies used in operations.
• Knowledge of IT networks, operations, security, cloud technologies, batch processing tools, scheduling software, recovery solutions, data replication, and off-site storage.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Background in technology industry, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
• Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, CISSP, or CCNA are a plus.
