Staff Machine Learning Engineer (India based, relocation provided)

Get to know our engineering team: we work across structured and unstructured data at scale, supporting business users and product teams with ML products, shared frameworks and ML services. Our work includes distributed systems, stream processing, ML modeling and computation at tens of PB scale.

This role is based in Gurgaon, India.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team technically to improve scalability, stability, accuracy, speed and efficiency of existing ML systems and processes.
• Build, administer and scale ML processing pipelines and take ML models to production at scale (end-to-end ownership).
• Design, build, test and deploy libraries, frameworks or full systems for core ML/data platforms, maintaining high testing and code quality standards.
• Work with engineers and product owners to identify and build tools to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks.
• Operate and debug production systems and processes related to ML pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Work with the technology stack including Python3, PySpark, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, S3 and related Big Data tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 4+ years in ML.
• Strong experience in PySpark and expert-level understanding of Python including design patterns and object-oriented programming.
• Experience debugging and reasoning about production issues and a good understanding of data architecture principles.
• Experience with Big Data technologies / tools and SQL.
• Systems administration skills in Linux and a strong engineering-driven mindset.

Skills

• Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems.
• Experience working with open-source products.
• Experience with Scala development.
• Working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies preferred.
