Senior Network Engineer

About the Role

ATA IT Limited (National Bank of Canada group) is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage, secure and improve network and cybersecurity infrastructures. Onsite, full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the availability of services, follow up on incidents/problems and provide root cause analyses to define permanent fixes and continuous improvement.
• Recommend, deploy and maintain security and network solutions such as firewalls, WAF, routers, switches, load balancers, etc.
• Analyze application flows during incidents (TCPDUMP, Wireshark).
• Analyze and implement traditional firewall rules (Cisco CSM/FMC, Checkpoint Firewall) and "pull-request" firewall rules (Checkpoint CloudGuard, AWS, Azure).
• Configure, support and document network access infrastructure such as authentication, authorization and device profiling (NAC).
• Implement content delivery solutions (CDN) and DDoS protection.
• Implement network solutions for campuses, branches and data centers.
• Analyze and assess risks and vulnerabilities of systems and ensure equipment compliance with security standards and enterprise architecture.
• Analyze infrastructure change requests, assess impacts on existing applications and suggest appropriate changes.
• Identify and automate processes to save time or improve quality for production releases.
• Provide management with information to influence network and cybersecurity strategy.
• Perform and maintain documentation of environments.
• Able to work outside normal working hours and perform standby duty.

• Network technologies: Switch, Router, VPN, DNS, Load-Balancer, TCP, QoS
• Firewalls and security platforms: Cisco CSM/FMC, Checkpoint, CloudGuard
• Network troubleshooting tools: TCPDUMP, Wireshark
• Cloud environments: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Data encryption concepts: SSL, VPN, TLS, PKI
• Automation and scripting: Python and use of vendor APIs
• Monitoring tools: Zabbix, ExtraHop

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Network Engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Good communication skills in English (written and oral).
