Chapter Lead of Software Development

About the Role

Responsible for leading across Software Engineer, DevOps, Cloud Engineer, System Analysis, and UX/UI to deliver scalable, secure and resilient solutions in Core Retail for both Thailand and Malaysia business. Work arrangement: hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large engineering teams in cross-functional delivery to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
• Governance of high-scale, resilient, and cost-optimized systems; establish and enforce engineering standards across teams.
• Drive strategic resource planning and talent development to align team capabilities with evolving Retail Tech business goals.
• Bridge competency gaps to build a high-performing, future-ready engineering organization.
• Manage vendor relationships and vendor performance to ensure solution delivery meets IT standards and SLAs.
• Manage and optimize software development and outsourcing budgets to achieve cost efficiencies aligned with IT finance strategy.
• Lead and mentor teams on adoption of AI-SDLC to increase productivity in the software development process.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of total IT experience with a strong background in Software Engineering, Solution Architecture and AI Development.
• At least 3 years of people management experience in software/solution delivery areas.
• Familiar with Agile adoption in large software development organizations (10–20 squads).
• Hands-on familiarity with modern programming languages and stacks such as Java, Golang, NodeJS and with frontend and backend technologies.
• Experience with modern architectures such as Microservices, Event-driven Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
• Comfortable communicating with Executive Leadership.
