Responsibilities

• Respond to and attend guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Carry equipment (tools, radio) and identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
• Demonstrate or acquire basic knowledge in air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and other guestroom items; program TVs.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance work and perform repairs on interior/exterior landscaping and sprinklers.
• Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties and basic computer tasks such as inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
• Follow all company safety and security policies; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protect company assets, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to quality standards.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests appropriately.
• Work cooperatively with team members to reach common goals and listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Perform physical tasks: move/lift/carry/push/pull/place objects up to 50 pounds without assistance (heavier with assistance), use stairs, service ramps and ladders, and perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D.; some experience in general maintenance, interior/exterior surface preparation and painting; experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• Required Qualifications: Driver's License; ability to complete required safety training and certifications.
