EHS Management Lead - Data Centres

JLL is a global real estate and investment management company providing advisory, services and technology. This role supports EHS oversight for data centre construction projects and interfaces with construction management, owners and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Routinely monitor Contractor EHS performance to ensure compliance with contractor practices/procedures, regulatory requirements and owner expectations identified in the contract EHS Schedule.
• Advise contractors on identification and implementation of corrective actions for identified deficiencies or issues.
• Provide construction management with current Contractor EHS data including trending, incident management, EHS metrics and other information to support timely decision-making.
• Participate in and support communication methods such as safety meetings and notices to ensure EHS information is communicated across site and to DC management.
• Ensure weekly site safety walk with Contractor management representative and Owner PM/team; participate in daily site safety walk with Contractor safety representative.
• Act as coach and advisor to the Contractor safety committee.
• Evaluate completeness and effectiveness of Contractor hazard assessments (RAMS, JHAs, ARTs, etc.).
• Lead creation of Significant Events (SE) and Significant Potential Events (SPE); promptly raise non-compliance/non-conformance to relevant individuals and stakeholders.
• Ensure KPIs, leading/lagging indicators and EHS data submitted by the Contractor are accurate, timely and complete.
• Conduct monthly Contractor EHS audits and implement/maintain the Boots on the Ground program.
• Participate in progress and schedule meetings; assist in design reviews across the project lifecycle (Design, Permitting, Construction, Commissioning and Testing, Start-up, Handover, Close-out).
• Attend and coordinate training as requested; evaluate/audit Site Specific Safety Plans for conformance to Project Manual requirements.
• Maintain and foster relations with program stakeholders (Engineering, IT Operations Teams, Security, etc.) and support EHS initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of supervision on medium to large construction sites; preferably experience with data centre projects in live environments.
• Experience monitoring contractor EHS performance, conducting audits and managing EHS metrics and incident processes.
• Knowledge and experience with hazard assessments (RAMS, JHAs, ARTs) and development of SE/SPE.
• Experience conducting site safety walks, coaching safety committees and delivering EHS training.
• Experience supporting design reviews across lifecycle stages and evaluating Site Specific Safety Plans against Project Manual requirements.
