Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration within the engineering team, QA, and Product, facilitating discussions and ensuring effective communication.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, provide guidance on technical approaches, design patterns, and best practices.
• Conduct peer code reviews and promote engineering excellence and high code quality standards across the team.
• Own feature design and implementation end-to-end, delivering robust, scalable, and production-ready code.
• Design, document, and communicate system solutions balancing time, quality, cost, and performance.
• Coordinate complex multi-part tasks and break down technical challenges into manageable components.
• Champion modern software development practices including Test Driven Development, continuous integration, and deployment.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, change analysis sessions, and technical presentations; collaborate across the organisation to gain buy-in on proposals and designs.
• Contribute to technical strategy discussions and take ownership of initiatives in innovation or technical debt reduction.

Qualifications

Essential

• Deep technical expertise in C# at a mature commercial level and .NET Core.
• Strong knowledge of object orientation, SOA, and related design patterns.
• Experience with modern database systems, Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design, and SQL.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and with Web API design and implementation.
• Understanding of concurrency, asynchrony, and parallelism.
• Experience with agile methodologies, version control, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Proven experience with Test Driven Development, unit testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and patterns for testability.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other engineers and experience in financial services or mutual funds industry.

Desirable

• Experience with TypeScript, single page applications and responsive web development using Angular.
• Familiarity with enterprise messaging systems such as NServiceBus or Azure Service Bus.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Exposure to blockchain development and cryptographic concepts is a plus.
