Application Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general application related tasks and daily operation.
• Maintain usability of applications e.g. SW updates, execute a working CI/CD pipeline and develop solutions for issues.
• Maintain and improve testing monitoring, alerting, clean up and logging of application components.
• Support automation of processes, service deliveries and deployment pipelines.
• Request and manage certificates.
• Arrange access for new users and manage access for existing users to relevant applications.
• Support issue handling by data and system analysis to find root causes.
• Measure process performance based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and support improvements.
• Document processes and monitor compliance with procedures.
• Drive Kubernetes, Docker and Open Shift related activities (migrations, signatures, documentation, ...).
• Help to implement AI to improve efficiency.
• Work with international colleagues from different departments and cultures.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferable Experience: 2-3 years in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer role or related fields.
• Language Skills: Excellent English communication skills are mandatory.
• Application Environment Knowledge: Docker, Kubernetes, helm charts, Git or other VCS concepts, TLS/SSL certificate management, SW deployment strategies.
• Programming Skills: Experience in reading and writing of scripts e.g. shell scripting.
• Data Handling: Data base skills e.g. MS-SQL, MySQL, SQLite are an advantage.
• IT Collaboration Tools: Experience with tools like Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira and MS Office.
• Quality Mindset: Basic understanding of quality improvement methods.
• Operations: Willingness to take operational tasks.
• Security Awareness: Basic knowledge of information security and cryptography is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Good in analytical and teamwork abilities, proactive, problem solving, independent and reliable work style, curiosity to learn and adapt quickly.
