About the Role

We’re looking for a Mid-to-Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our technology team and take ownership of database strategy, stability, and performance in a high-impact SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and continuously improve production database systems (MSSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL on AWS RDS).
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance across environments.
• Implement and refine backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps to optimize queries, schema, indexing, and infrastructure.
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting for database health and performance.
• Strengthen database security and compliance posture.
• Provide technical leadership on database best practices and architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience managing production relational databases in cloud environments.
• Experience with MSSQL or PostgreSQL tuning, profiling, replication, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of scaling databases for high read/write traffic applications.
• Experience working cross-functionally with developers, DevOps, and product managers.
• Experience managing CI/CD workflows for DB schema changes and migrations.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and ownership over system reliability.

Skills

• Experience with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB and familiarity with Redis or Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability tools (APM, Prometheus, Grafana) is desirable.
• Scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash, Terraform, TypeScript) are beneficial.
