Staff Accountant

At MDD, our expert Forensic Accountants help evaluate and determine litigation damages, business valuations and insurance claims in a clear and concise manner. Our partners and senior staff regularly provide extensive litigation services and expert witness testimony in courts, arbitrations and mediations throughout the world.

As a Staff Accountant at MDD, you will work closely with a small team of Senior and Partner Forensic Accountants on unique and interesting client cases which to date have included commercial litigation, fraud and corruption, business valuations, business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits, business interruption, product liability and recall, and subrogation.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong numeracy, communication and analytical skills and will have a genuine desire to work in forensic accounting.

This role is based in Sathorn Square, Bangkok.

Key Responsibilities

• Intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
• Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement
• Checking and proofing reports and schedules
• Conduct phone or in person interviews to obtain information
• Research on a wide-range of topics, issues
• Data analysis and evaluation
• Invoice analysis
• Attend marketing events and functions with clients

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Accounting, Finance or Law-related degree qualified
• Working towards (or a willingness to work towards) an accounting qualification / designation
• Fluent in both Thai and English; confident communicating verbally and in-writing at a business level
• 12 months + experience in a professional working environment, client-facing role beneficial
• Ability to take ownership of tasks, working independently but equally happy to contribute to team efforts and goals
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to learn and understand how loss events may impact a business
• IT literacy with strong Excel skills
