About the Role

Ashland (Thailand) Co Ltd is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Technical Service Manager – Personal Care for South East Asia / Australia New Zealand. This role will drive personal care lab operations by providing technical sales support, laboratory testing, and formulating personal care ingredient products (thickeners, polymers, biofunctional actives, preservatives) in haircare, skincare, suncare, oral care, and homecare applications. The position reports to the Global Senior R&D Director – Personal Care and is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities

• Follow good lab practices and comply with all company policies and procedures with a specific focus on safety
• Screen raw materials in formulations and generate technical data to support strategy and business growth
• Formulate and create new prototypes to support customer projects and concepts
• Understand the competitive landscape and identify customer need gaps to help develop the next generation of cosmetic formulations
• Create and maintain technical product documentation and records, including MSDS, specification sheets, and COAs
• Support sales and distributor team training with prototype demos and presentations
• Participate in technical conferences, fairs, and share knowledge and insights internally and with customers
• Handle day-to-day maintenance of laboratory equipment and housekeeping of the laboratory
• Actively contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals, and focusing on performance and safety
• Improve organizational capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent, and utilizing positive communications and influence

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, cosmetic science, or related degree with 10 years' experience, OR Bachelor's degree with minimum 13 years' relevant experience
• 10+ years' experience in personal care R&D and/or related fields preferred
• Willingness for occasional travel (30%)
• Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
• Ability to help drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions, and creating new solutions
• Ability to work independently with proactive working style and quick perception
• Result oriented with strong passion for solving problems
• Professional English language skills (scientific writing and spoken)
• Familiarity with image analysis software and statistical software
• Experience handling analytical instruments in rheology, texture analysis, microscopy, and sensory preferred
• Able to conduct analysis tests at collaborative university labs/research institutes
• Able to troubleshoot problems, adapt experimental methods to address specific research challenges, and provide effective recommendations
• Excellent presentation and oral communication skills in English and Thai
