About the Role

Leadership / Coaching / Report / and support all workload in all data centers as Team Lead, Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Data Center Technicians and Facilities Technicians and manage daily operations of the CFOps team.
• Operate and maintain data center facilities (electrical, cooling, etc.) to assure optimal uptime for customers (measured by Five 9’s).
• Task out CFOps work to comply with local, state, and federal requirements for fire, health and life safety.
• Provide tasking and scheduling for non-critical and critical maintenance; write, review and supervise execution of Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Method of Procedure (SMP).
• Ensure CFOps team effectiveness against goals including budget review, staff planning, NPS and efficiency metrics.
• Analyze data center equipment for effectiveness, efficiency, safety, cost, longevity and reliability; use data trending/tracking and PC-based integrated monitoring systems.
• Conduct in-depth training for technicians on equipment, preventive maintenance, QA and CFOps procedures; manage and maintain training documentation and provide documentation to HR.
• Work with customers to support successful installs and exceed expectations.
• Supervise safety and well-being of CFOps team; responsible for shift assignments, timekeeping review & approval and PTO approval for assigned technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Background in electrical and mechanical systems design review, layout, installation, commissioning and operations.
• Knowledge of low voltage systems including fire, security and PLCs, and familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, sprinkler and dry-stand pipe systems and building codes.
• Knowledge of industrial safety best practices (lockout/tagout, arc flash protection, OSHA and state regulations) and ability to conduct power and fire system capacity, safety and code compliance assessments.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial mechanical & electrical systems including 12kV switchgear, 480/277 and 208/120 volt generation and distribution systems, diesel generator plants up to 2MW, static UPS systems, multi-string flooded cell batteries and monitoring systems, static switches, PLC and relay logic controls, power monitoring systems, VFD drives, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, HVAC equipment, CRAC units, emergency standby diesel generator systems, fuel/oil systems and storage tanks, chilled/condenser water pumps, well/vault or sump pumps, domestic water systems and backflow prevention devices.
• Experienced with data trending/tracking and analysis and ability to rapidly learn and use PC-based integrated critical monitoring systems.
• Entry-level supervisory experience with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to train electrical and mechanical teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar field.
• Solid experience in data center and/or critical facilities operations and maintenance engineering.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and experience with data analysis/trending tools.
• Ability to logically analyze and solve problems and to train teams on systems and procedures.
