About the Role

Mainstream Primary School Learning Support Assistant (LSA) — full-time, onsite. August 2026 start. LSAs are members of the Primary School Learning Support Team who work with class teachers, learning support specialists and therapists to help children access the mainstream curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, caring relationships with children and promote inclusion, independence and confidence
• Support class teachers in delivering lessons that meet individual student needs, including 1:1 and small-group support
• Assist with adapting materials and differentiating tasks to suit individual learning plans
• Promote engagement and positive behaviour in the classroom and playground
• Collaborate with specialist staff to monitor progress and refine strategies
• Facilitate communication between home and school when needed and accompany students on school trips and events
• Contribute to whole-school events and duties as directed by Head of Phase or School Leadership

Qualifications

• Punctual, reliable and fully engaged throughout the school day
• Use a range of strategies to support children with diverse learning needs and adapt tasks, instructions and classroom resources
• Communicate clearly with students, families and staff and maintain professional relationships
• Encourage student independence and confidence and be sensitive to children's personal and social needs
• Work positively as part of a collaborative team and be proactive, nurturing, and ready for ongoing professional development
