DM, Functional Expert - SD

Job Purpose:

• The Functional Expert specializes in analyzing, designing, and configuring enterprise software to meet business requirements focusing in Sales & Distribution (SD) area ensuring that enterprise software implementation aligns with the company's processes and goals. They work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translating these into enterprise software solutions. Their scope includes customizing enterprise software modules, testing for functionality, training key users, and providing ongoing support and optimization. Their expertise is not just technical but also involves a deep understanding of business processes, enabling them to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions involved for the enterprise software.
• Functional Expert also play a pivotal role in providing expert guidance and mentorship to Key Users within the organization, focusing on enterprise software knowledge and business processes serving as a mentor, coach, and partner to Key Users, ensuring they have a deep understanding of the enterprise software and how processes are configured.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Software Configuration and Implementation
   • Configure and implement enterprise software products to align with organizational requirements.
   • Collaborate with business users to gain a deep understanding of their business needs and processes.
2. Enterprise software’s Change Request Management
   • Drive change requests related to system configurations and processes.
   • Verify the impact of proposed changes on existing processes and system functionality.
3. Solution Design and Customization
   • Design, customize, and implement enterprise software solutions tailored to meet clients' specific needs.
   • Write functional specifications for the development team to ensure accurate system enhancements.
4. Functional Knowledge Stewardship
   • Safeguard the functional knowledge of the enterprise software solution, encompassing both process and system aspects.
   • Act as a data governor for master data and transactional data within the functional area
5. Process Improvement for enterprise software
   • Actively contribute to improvement initiatives for enterprise software, leveraging a detailed understanding of existing processes and systems.
   • Play a key role in introducing automation initiatives to enhance current system features.
6. Key User Community Facilitation
   • Facilitate and support the Key User community, serving as their primary point of contact.
   • Proactively communicate updates on new releases and projects related to the enterprise software ecosystem.
   • Coordinate regression testing and monitor Business Process KPIs to promote continuous improvement in software usage.
   • Drive content creation and knowledge sharing within the community, fostering engagement among Key Users.
   • Mentor and coach Key Users, providing expertise in SAP and other enterprise software/systems and their associated business processes.
   • Utilize platforms like MS Teams to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the community.
   • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the Key Users community through platforms like Teams.
7. Global Process Owner (GPDO) Partnership
   • Collaborate closely with the Global Process Owner (GPDO) to align system knowledge and process improvements with overall business objectives.
   • Act as a liaison between Key Users and the GPDO to ensure effective communication and execution of new initiatives.

Education/Training Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology).
• Proficiency in SAP SD module or other relevant enterprise software systems and configuration.
• Strong familiarity with business processes and operations of relevant enterprise software.

Experiences:

• 8-10 years of experience in SAP SD modules and integration with other modules such as MM, PP, EWM and FICO
• Proficiency in SAP SD for Order to Cash processes, sales order processing, condition contract, shipping & delivery, good issues, billing, invoicing and payment.
• Proven track record of successfully driving relevant enterprise software -related change requests and process improvements.
• Experience in configuring SAP for compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Understanding of order-to-cash workflows and profit-centre accounting.
• Experience in community management and knowledge sharing is a plus.
