Managing Director

About the Role

The Managing Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the company according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The role covers sales, finance and overall operations including factory and construction site management, team leadership and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage VCON’s team; set goals and establish work priorities to ensure deadlines and sales targets are met.
• Oversee and coordinate sales procedures; resolve customer complaints and monitor customer preferences to focus sales efforts.
• Analyze sales statistics, project sales, determine product/service profitability, and set discount or special pricing plans.
• Develop plans to acquire new customers through direct sales techniques and B2B marketing visits; assign sales territories and set sales targets.
• Plan and coordinate training programs for sales staff and develop training programs for VCON’s team.
• Participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan; identify, assess and inform the Board of internal and external issues affecting the company.
• Develop an operational plan that incorporates goals and objectives aligned to the company’s strategic direction and ensure operations meet client and Board expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day operations; work with finance staff to prepare a comprehensive budget, approve expenditures within delegated authority, and monitor monthly cash flow.
• Ensure bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed and that the company complies with local legislation covering taxation and withholding payments.
• Provide the Board with comprehensive regular reports on the company’s revenues and expenditures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business, civil engineering, industrial engineering, management, economics or marketing required; Civil Engineering degree preferred.
• Experience in construction material company management is usually required.
• 5 or more years of management experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills.
• Good command of English and Thai.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.

• Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
