Indochina Foods Senior Manager, EHS & Sustainability

About the Role

Lead the development of the strategy and implementation of the Environment, Health and Safety agenda for ICF, ensuring the program delivers legal and regulatory compliance and license to operate for all operating facilities, while driving initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of associates. Lead Indochina Foods Sustainability agenda, working with manufacturing plants, PepsiCo Global and Sector teams and Franchise partners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EHS strategy and AOP plans: Ensure compliance with legal and environmental regulatory requirements (current and emerging) to maintain license to operate for all sites; ensure PepsiCo EHS programs are adopted and embedded across manufacturing plants, warehouses, offices, agro locations and sales organizations; lead Waste Water Treatment Plant operations, the medical team and the security team at each manufacturing location.
• Sustainability: Lead development and management of AOP and PSP Sustainability to support delivery of PEP+ goals; work closely with MU/Plant Sustainability Leads and Ops & GP Leadership; develop and share region sustainability scorecards, action plans and tools; provide coaching and mentoring of site Recon trained experts; develop and manage PepsiCo’s Best Practices implementation calendar across BU Foods Operations, Suppliers and Co-packers, ensuring proper resourcing and capex aligned to PEP+ objectives.
• Performance Improvements: Monitor results through KPI consolidation, analysis and benchmarking; support operations in setting action plans and ensuring implementation; conduct performance reviews with function leads; drive lift-and-shift of systems improvements (reporting, digitization and auditing) across sites in line with Global and Sector recommendations; lead EHS benchmarking exercises including external APAC comparisons.
• People programs & culture: Lead culture transformation agenda per Global and Sector strategy to achieve and maintain EHS culture across the organization; ensure deployment of annual EHS training plan across Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing.
• Compliance Management: Develop and ensure implementation of required EHS compliance procedures, work instructions and policies to meet regulatory, legal and PEP+ requirements; ensure ICF sites comply with PepsiCo GEHSMS and international standards via multi-certification 3rd party audits and GEHSMS self-assessment program; lead roll-out of PepsiCo’s EHS Best Practices; set and implement scheduled planned general inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science; postgraduate qualification preferable.
• More than 10 years’ experience in FMCG manufacturing, EHS, field and HO roles; minimum 5 years in EHS preferred.
• Leadership experience and capability with solid understanding of business levers and change management experience coupled with good analytical abilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, cross-geographically and across multiple cultures; strong internal and external communicator, influencer and negotiator.
• Ability to set and prioritize short, mid and long-term objectives; sound technical knowledge of health & safety and environmental legislation and the impact on business continuity and operations.
• Familiarity with project management processes and continuous improvement processes.
