German Language Specialist (Android Device) - Freelance AI Trainer Project

About the Role

Are you a German language expert eager to shape the future of AI? Large‑scale language models are evolving from chatbots into powerful engines of linguistic discovery. With high-quality training data, tomorrow’s AI can democratize education, support research, and streamline communication for German speakers. We need German language specialists to help power the next generation of AI.

Responsibilities

• Challenge advanced language models on German grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, pragmatics, and stylistic variation.
• Test topics such as verb conjugation, the German case system (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive), word order, declensions, and gender; document every failure mode.
• Converse with the model on language scenarios and verify factual accuracy and logical soundness.
• Capture reproducible error traces and provide clear documentation of issues.
• Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics based on observed errors.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in German language, linguistics, or a closely related field is ideal.
• Peer‑reviewed publications, teaching experience, or hands‑on linguistic analysis projects preferred.
• Clear, metacognitive communication—able to "show your work" and document reasoning and test cases.

Skills / Technical Skills

• Experience with linguistic analysis and error documentation for language models or NLP systems is highly relevant.
• Comfort working as a contractor and following test procedures, prompts, and evaluation guidelines.

Benefits

• Pay range: $6 to $65 per hour; exact rate determined after evaluating experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offers may vary.
• Contractor status: you must supply a secure computer and high‑speed internet; company‑sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.

• Project Technical Requirement (Device): limited to supported Android device models due to client and system compatibility requirements. You must have an eligible Android device in-hand and will be required to verify your device before engaging on the project.
