Senior Software Engineer Team Lead - AI Project

About the Role

The role is responsible for leading our software engineering team / sub-teams of developers with good leadership skills as well as good knowledge of delivery methodologies SDLC/Agile to ensure delivery of software development will be aligned with standardized AXA and business goals. This includes motivation, guidance, to ensure team can be able to match to detail design of software solutions to high level of architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, development and testing of software, including operating-systems-level software, compilers and network distribution software.
• Lead system-level problem analysis for applications or application suites.
• Lead software design to describe all aspects of software for building and implementation.
• Lead construction through coding, verification, unit testing, integration testing and debugging.
• Lead modification of software after delivery to correct faults and improve performance or other attributes.
• Lead software configuration management and software quality processes covering reliability, efficiency, security and maintainability.
• Apply management activities—planning, coordinating, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting—to ensure development and maintenance are systematic, disciplined and quantified.
• Manage source code review processes and drive development practices such as incremental delivery, continuous integration and deployment.
• Drive the engineering community to build technical knowledge and mature competency areas to develop a highly skilled pool of engineers.

Leadership

• Develop the knowledge and skills of team members through team building, development, leadership and motivation to deliver exceptional customer experience.
• Evaluate outcomes and revise processes based on learning from experience.
• Proactively initiate and develop quality improvements to systems, processes and practices to drive high-quality, actionable results.
• Provide leadership to ensure services to stakeholders are delivered to agreed standards and support/coach the team to drive best practice and optimize capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 7 years' experience in software development and design.
• Proven 3 years' experience in leading and managing development teams.
• Experience, qualifications and certifications for key programming languages, ideally in Java / JavaScript, React / React Native, NodeJS, GitHub; additional experience in Kotlin, Docker, Jenkins, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS desired.
• Proven ability to manage, control and validate vendor performance to ensure quality, compliance and alignment with organisation objectives.
• Deep experience and knowledge of the full software delivery life cycle and of implementation, architecture and infrastructure.
• Good experience with development and delivery practices such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, Kanban, DevSecOps and pair programming.
• Experience of enterprise organisations and complex architectures.
• Good communication skills in English for reading, writing and speaking to coordinate effectively with foreign vendors.
