The search team at LMWN is building the next-generation of recommendations and personalized to provide the best in class to the merchants and users. We are using modern technologies like machine learning to increase the conversion rate. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art food and restaurant discovery for users to our merchants.

About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. You will play a key role in building food and restaurant discovery in LINE MAN and Wongnai applications, and in facilitating and cultivating the engineering team to be a high-performance team.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multi-national team (the primary communication language is English) to build next-generation discovery, recommendation, and personalization search systems.
• Develop and research state-of-the-art algorithms in relevant search using cutting-edge technology.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to build and scale reliable back-end search services, and monitor/improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Guide and mentor technical design (coding patterns, algorithms, architecture) and participate in formal technical review process (RFC).
• Coach engineers on task breakdown and implementation plans, balancing business impact, quality, and efficiency.
• Design and plan production rollouts with minimal risk and fast impact; run experiments (A/B testing) to evaluate features.
• Work closely with product to identify future opportunities and plan technical designs to support them.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in the software development cycle.
• Proficient in at least one backend programming language, preferably Go or Java.
• Strong background knowledge in Elastic search.
• Experience establishing high-performance, self-organized teams with suitable processes and procedures.
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP; SQL and/or NoSQL databases; and technologies such as RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, and Solr.
• Growth mindset with willingness to learn and teach others.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to suggest technical solutions or workarounds.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.

Additional Information

• Understanding of basic data science and/or machine learning concepts is a plus.
• Curious and innovative attitude.
• Good command of English: TOEIC 800 is a plus.
• Good command of Chinese: HSK4 is a plus.
