Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack (Bangkok based, relocation provided)

About the Role

Lead engineer is a key role in our technology organisation, working with individual contributors and senior leadership to design and implement systems, hire and mentor engineers, and drive architectural change.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership and responsibility of mission-critical systems.
• Be hands-on building high-volume platforms using technologies like React and GraphQL.
• Mentor and coach other software engineers and participate heavily in hiring.
• Contribute to agile and scrum practices and cross-team technical projects and initiatives.
• Drive technical innovation, adoption of new technologies, and set technical standards.

Qualifications

• 12+ years experience developing web applications with client-side frameworks (React, Angular, VueJS, etc.) and minimum 3 years as a Tech Lead.
• B.S. in Computer Science or quantitative field; M.S. preferred.
• Working experience with agile, analytics, A/B testing or feature flags, Continuous Delivery, and trunk-based development.
• Excellent HTML/CSS skills and strong understanding of object-oriented JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Good command of the English language.

Additional Information

• Knowledge of scalable, highly available architectures and building resilient systems.
• Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, DynamoDB, etc.) and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.).
• Experience with containers and Docker; Kubernetes and CI/CD solutions are a plus.
• Proven client-side performance optimisation experience and modern coding practices (Clean Code, SOLID, TDD).
• Experience building for multiple front-end platforms (iOS, Android, Web) and working at scale with large numbers of users and transactions.
• Role is based in Bangkok, Thailand (Relocation Provided).
