Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and/or electronic product components; create and validate new components (technical specification, functionality, reliability, manufacturability, safety, quality, cost).
• Drive execution of mechanical development projects and activities; work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity.
• Use existing procedures to solve routine/standard problems; receive guidance from senior colleagues and support technical leader on project deliveries, documentation, planning and prototypes.
• Create and validate systems/modules/components through calculation/simulation modelling (CAE, MBD) and prototype/experimental testing.
• Support test manual definition and support internal/external laboratories on development/verification test result analysis and technical solutions.
• Participate in system/module/component definition and reviews, ensuring standardization and modularization.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and supply technical input for product literature, BOM, labels and technical manuals.
• Participate in supplier evaluation and selection and monitor/commission changes to plant and systems (PLM and part/product approvals).
• Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and drive external networking; technical leader or GDM responsibilities may be assigned depending on seniority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in new product development with responsibility for parts/components development.
• Mechanical engineering background; knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer or energy systems preferred.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Skills

• CAD modelling and drafting (NX is a plus).
• Plastic injection molding component design and sheet metal stamped design.
• Tolerance analysis, tooling knowledge, material and process selection, prototype building.
• Cost & quality analysis, development process including FMEA and DFMA.
• Data management in PLM systems (Teamcenter is a plus) and technical problem analysis/solving.
• People and cross-team working across APAC, Europe and Latin America; communication and presentation skills.
