Design Engineer

About the Role

Design Engineer responsible for supervising staff, developing and improving cable product designs and departmental work processes, maintaining engineering documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide subordinates to ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively and monitor work progress.
• Control and improve departmental work processes and systems to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documents, including Specifications, Technical Data, Material Weight Unit, Manufacturing Guide, Base Planning Object, Material Codes, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Study, analyze, and improve work processes and systems to enhance productivity, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Design and develop new cable products, and review or improve existing cable designs to optimize performance and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support and consultation to customers and internal departments.
• Coach and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recommend training and development plans for subordinates.
• Monitor and control product design and development activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable standards and certifications such as TISI, IEC, and TÜV SÜD.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure projects and activities are completed according to objectives.
• Promote workplace safety by ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), reporting incidents and unsafe conditions, and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, and customer-specific requirements adopted by the company.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, perform other duties as assigned by management, and comply with company regulations, policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience in electrical cable product design will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of engineering calculations, technical documentation, and computer applications.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
