Regional Technical Lead (Encapsulates & Dairy Proteins)

About the Role

The Regional Technical Lead is Caldic's central technical point of contact for our Principal's portfolio across the region. The role coordinates technical and application support across countries, develops market-relevant application solutions, strengthens local technical capability, and provides first-line support to country technical and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Technical Leadership and Coordination

• Act as the single regional technical point of contact for our Principal portfolio inquiries from Caldic’s country teams.
• Validate and clarify technical inquiries, conduct appropriate initial investigation, coordinate follow-up and ensure closure; engage our Principal's Technical Lead when specialist input or escalation is required.

Application Development and Portfolio Activation

• Identify the top two to three application categories in each country and align regional priorities with Regional Business Development Manager and our Principal.
• Develop and coordinate commercially relevant application samples across beverage, bakery and/or savory categories, reflecting local preferences, customer needs and reasonable formulation cost.

Country Enablement and Capability Building

• Provide hands-on guidance to local application and sales teams.
• Conduct our Principal portfolio onboarding for new sales and technical colleagues within one month of their start date.
• Plan and facilitate quarterly cross-country technical sharing sessions covering formulations, troubleshooting, customer insights and technical learnings.
• Promote consistent ways of working and effective knowledge transfer across Caldic’s countries.

Customer, Event and Campaign Support

• Support local teams in customer-facing technical discussions and application troubleshooting, either directly or by coordinating the appropriate technical resource.
• Work with our Principal and Caldic’s Regional Business Development Manager on ideation, content and application development for relevant events and campaigns.
• Participate in selected seminars, roadshows, exhibitions and other customer-facing activities where technical presence adds value.

Technical Information, Reporting and Knowledge Management

• Create and maintain a central repository of formulations, application samples, troubleshooting guides, customer insights and technical learnings.
• Maintain visibility of current specifications and related technical documentation for common Principal's SKUs, working with the relevant Quality, Regulatory and commercial functions.
• Provide monthly reporting on projects supported by Caldic’s technical resources and keep our Principal informed of material changes in country technical coverage.

Market, Competition and Basic Regulatory Support

• Serve as first-line responder for basic local regulatory questions by clarifying the context and actual issue, then working with Caldic’s Regulatory Affairs and our Principal as appropriate; the role does not replace formal Regulatory or Quality accountability.

• Clear communicator able to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage concurrent priorities across multiple countries.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional regional languages are advantageous.
• Willing and able to undertake limited regional travel.

Job Requirements

Education and Technical Background

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Strong technical knowledge of food ingredients and application development, ideally across beverage, bakery and/or savory applications.
• Practical understanding of formulation, sample development, troubleshooting and the translation of technical concepts into customer-relevant solutions.
• Working knowledge of food-product documentation and basic regulatory concepts; able to recognize when specialist Quality or Regulatory input is required.

Experience

• Relevant experience in technical service, application development, R&D or food-ingredients technical support. [Minimum years 8)
• Experience working with commercial teams and customers in a business-to-business food-ingredients environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across countries, functions or cultures without relying on direct reporting authority.
• Experience delivering technical training, coaching or knowledge-sharing sessions.
