Assistant Manager, Facilities and Utilities

About the Role

Join us as an Assistant Manager, Facilities and Utilities and play a vital role in powering a high-performing, 24/7 manufacturing environment. You’ll take ownership of critical utility systems, drive operational excellence, lead maintenance strategies, champion energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives (including renewable energy projects), and ensure compliance with GMP and Thai regulatory standards. Based at our Chon Buri plant and reporting to the Senior Manager, Plant Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of all utility systems: steam boilers, compressed air, HVAC, water treatment, wastewater, and electrical systems.
• Ensure continuous utility supply to support 24/7 production operations and monitor system performance to implement efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Ensure local Thai compliance with GMP (Thai FDA), Ministry of Industry and DIW regulations on emissions, hazardous waste and energy use; maintain documentation for inspections and audits and participate in internal and external audits.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs; conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for utility-related failures.
• Utilize SAP (or similar CMMS) to manage work orders, asset history and performance KPIs.
• Plan and execute capital improvement projects related to facility upgrades and utility enhancements, ensuring projects meet Thai regulatory and environmental standards.
• Lead energy efficiency and water conservation initiatives; monitor and report environmental KPIs and implement renewable energy or waste heat recovery projects where feasible.
• Supervise and develop a team of technicians and engineers; promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline).
• Proven experience in facilities, utilities or plant engineering, ideally within manufacturing, pharmaceutical or FMCG environments.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems including steam boilers, HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, wastewater and electrical systems.
• Experience managing maintenance programs (preventive, predictive, RCM) and conducting RCA for failures.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or similar CMMS tools for asset management, work orders and performance tracking.
• Familiarity with Thai regulatory requirements including GMP, environmental and industrial compliance standards (Thai FDA, DIW) and experience supporting audits and inspections with strong documentation skills.
• Experience driving energy efficiency, sustainability or renewable energy initiatives and project management experience for facility/utility capital projects.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
