About the Role

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing and developing scalable Java-based backend systems in alignment with enterprise architecture and IT standards. Role focuses on high-quality code, system reliability, SDLC and banking compliance, and close collaboration with AI/ML teams to integrate conversational AI capabilities. Work arrangement: hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Technical analysis and application design aligned with IT Blueprint and enterprise standards
• Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high-quality, efficient code
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and database interactions (PostgreSQL)
• Work within Microservices architecture and apply SDLC methodology
• Adopt and apply appropriate technologies, including emerging AI frameworks, for backend integration
• Troubleshoot and fix production issues as 3rd-tier support to ensure smooth banking operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly AI/ML teams, to integrate conversational AI/LLM capabilities into backend services
• Identify and implement modifications to existing programs to improve functionality and reliability

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years experience in software development with focus on backend systems
• 3+ years strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and RESTful APIs
• Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
• Understanding of software design diagrams such as UML and ER
• Experience in Microservices architecture
• Experience in XP practices: TDD, pair programming
• Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Experience with containers and Docker Compose is a plus
• Experience in deployment and DevOps is a plus
• Proficient in Thai and English at intermediate level or above for technical discussions and documentation
• Can work at the office at least 4 days a week (Mon–Thu)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java-based AI frameworks such as Spring AI, LangChain4j, or Semantic Kernel
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and designing prompts for financial/banking contexts
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, etc.) with secure and compliant backend systems
• Proven interest in AI technologies applied to financial services (conversational banking, intelligent assistants)
