Civil Engineer

About the Role

Position: Civil Engineer / Field Engineer – 2 Year Contract. Location: Surat Thani, Thailand. Onsite role reporting to Head of Global Engineering within the Operations department.

As part of a global transformation program to modernise manufacturing and operations, the role will assist in designing and delivering infrastructure upgrades and facility improvement initiatives to support growth, efficiency and sustainability. This is a hands-on field role requiring strong project coordination and the ability to manage engineering works across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of civil engineering workstreams within a global supply chain transformation programme and execute site infrastructure projects to support manufacturing upgrades and capacity expansion.
• Assess and design improvements to site infrastructure including structural works, utilities, drainage and foundations; support site modifications, facility upgrades and layout changes.
• Coordinate project timelines, engineering specifications and contractor activities to ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption to operations.
• Conduct on-site engineering assessments and inspections across multiple locations and provide technical support during construction, installation and commissioning phases.
• Manage and coordinate external engineering contractors and construction partners; act as technical interface between project teams, site operations and engineering suppliers.
• Ensure all engineering works comply with local building regulations, environmental standards and company EHS policies and promote safe working practices.
• Maintain documentation, reporting and project tracking to support governance within the transformation programme and identify opportunities to improve site infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering, construction or field engineering, ideally in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation, infrastructure upgrade or facility modernisation projects.
• Strong understanding of site infrastructure, structural works, drainage, utilities and facility construction.
• Experience managing contractors and site engineering activities and ability to work in fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience in large-scale supply chain or manufacturing transformation programmes and familiarity with plant layout changes or production line installations.
• Professional engineering certification or chartership.
