Senior Engineer, Software Development Engineering

Responsibilities

• Build and implement functional programs and test code to validate Hard Disk Drive products.
• Perform technical support activities related to test using engineering approaches to respond to work requests focused on productivity improvement, quality, and cost.
• Establish and maintain appropriate performance reports.
• Improve test code development to ensure test code quality and product validation.
• Supervise technicians and engineers to accomplish tasks effectively and coordinate with other sections including overseas organizations on technical product issues.
• Identify and record problems related to test code, product, process, tooling, and quality systems and verify implementation of solutions.
• Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, equipment, and quality system; perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates and candidates with 0–2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of work experience in a related field.
• Part of WD's Early Career program with structured training, mentorship, and development curriculum.

Skills

• Must have knowledge of C++, C, and Python.
• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Generative AI and Python knowledge are an advantage.
• Excellent logical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and strong motivation for professional development.
• Good level of English proficiency (written/verbal).
