Head of Thailand, Patent Attorney

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced candidate to lead our Thailand office. This leadership role requires the candidate to be a qualified Patent Agent with expertise in Intellectual Property (IP).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Thailand office by managing the delivery of the Company’s services, including practice management of professional teams and functions of the administrative team to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide expert advice on patent prosecution, filing strategies and portfolio management; oversee filing, examination responses and hearings; well-versed in enforcement/litigation processes.
• Manage workflow including appropriate delegation, review and supervision of work by staff members.
• Manage work quality and ensure appropriate review and quality control of work undertaken by the team.
• Establish performance metrics, develop and mentor the team to provide continuous professional development.
• Manage interactions with Examiners and Officers at the Department of Intellectual Property, Thailand and other regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate and communicate with entities in other countries including liaising with Principals and corporate group members as appropriate.
• Participate in appropriate professional organisations and other representative industry bodies to promote the Company.

Qualifications

• Registered Patent Agent with experience in patent matters and demonstrated experience engaging with the Department of Intellectual Property.
• More than 10 years of experience in Intellectual Property with a focus on patents.
• Proven track record in leading teams and managing an office; ability to inspire, lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Thai.
