Assoc. Director - Country AI Engineer

About the Role

Lead end-to-end delivery of AI solutions for an insurance business, from ideation and experimentation to production deployment on Azure. Set technical directions, ensure production quality, and provide mentorship to engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI solutions from ideation to production rollout and continuous improvement.
• Build AI applications across Generative AI, predictive modeling, and analytics depending on business priority.
• Work with business teams (claims, underwriting, sales, operations) to translate problems into AI solutions.
• Deploy AI services and pipelines on Azure with focus on reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Set engineering standards for AI development, evaluation, monitoring, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and data scientists.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years in software/AI/ML engineering with multiple production deliveries.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills (APIs/services, testing, maintainability).
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and practical AI evaluation for both Generative AI and classical ML.
• Experience delivering solutions on Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Search patterns.
• Familiarity with Azure MLOps / LLMOps practices (monitoring, CI/CD, model lifecycle management).
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated environments preferred.
• Experience with ChatGPT, Copilot 365 or similar AI-future tools is an advantage.
