About the Role

The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the MJets’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Flight Data Analysis Program (FDAP), coordinating safety investigations, ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations, and leading safety risk management activities across operations and maintenance. This includes compliance with TCAR Part OPS, Part M, Part CAMO and Part 145 as well as relevant ICAO and CAAT safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee implementation, performance, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS) across flight operations and maintenance.
  • Supervise safety databases and Flight Data Analysis Program (FDAP) for proactive risk management, including analyzing flight data to identify trends and anomalies, preparing reports on flight performance and efficiency, generating flight data analysis reports for hazard identification, and assisting with corrective action.
  • Conduct safety analysis to ensure compliance with regulations and assist in safety investigations to determine root causes and preventive measures.
  • Maintain, manage, and secure trend, event, and flight safety information databases.
  • Direct and support occurrence/defect reporting, internal investigations, hazard identification, safety risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions aligned with TCARs and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead and participate in Safety Action Group, Safety Review Board, and Management Evaluation Review meetings to support decision-making and system enhancement.
  • Liaise with CAAT and other aviation authorities on safety compliance, audits, inspections, and documentation concerning TCAR 8 Part 145 (Maintenance), TCAR OPS (Operations), aircraft state registration, and other safety requirements.
  • Oversee safety management aspects of Aircraft Management to ensure compliance with state of registration requirements and applicable safety standards.
  • Develop, track, and report Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and Safety Performance Targets (SPTs) and recommend improvements where safety objectives are not being met.
  • Ensure the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is established, implemented, exercised, and maintained effectively.
  • Coordinate and support external safety audits and inspections, including documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Develop safety training programs and awareness campaigns for staff on safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and aviation safety principles per TCAR, ICAO, and state registration requirements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Training, and Aircraft Management teams to ensure timely identification and resolution of safety issues.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in aviation safety management, including ICAO Annexes and international standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Quality and Safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation safety management or related roles in airline/aviation operations, maintenance, and aircraft management.
  • Certificates in Internal Auditor, Safety Management Systems (SMS), or related qualifications preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety related to TCARs Part OPS, Part M, Part CAMO and Part 145, CAAT safety regulations, and requirements related to aircraft state registration and aircraft management.
  • Experience managing occurrence/defect reporting, safety investigations, and risk assessments covering flight operations, maintenance, and aircraft management.
  • Proven ability to lead safety audits, analyze safety data, and promote safety culture.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety/compliance management software; experience in GE C-FOQA system will be given special consideration.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety culture.
