About the Role
Serve as the process owner of Employee Relations (ER) and Compensation & Benefits (C&B) for Mitsubishi Chemical Thailand operations, with full accountability across Bangkok, Chonburi, and Rayong (employee population ~220). Based in Chonburi, reporting to the MCT HR Head, leading a team of one to two direct reports, and partnering with business group heads and functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Internal Controls, Regional HR) to deliver integrated people practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead employee relations and workplace governance, including internal communications to build trust and transparent employer–employee relationships.
- Manage employee grievances, misconduct investigations, and disciplinary actions in coordination with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
- Enforce company policies, rules, and regulations, and liaise with government authorities and external regulatory bodies on labor matters.
- Design, review, and maintain competitive salary structures and compensation frameworks aligned with business and market realities.
- Lead annual performance review cycles, consolidate outcomes, and prepare recommendations on increments and bonus payouts for Executive Committee approval.
- Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and coordination with Finance; manage expatriate compensation, taxation, and related ER/C&B matters.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and frameworks, including policies for overseas assignments (GMP), and ensure consistent communication and application across locations.
- Plan and oversee employee engagement initiatives (company gatherings, sports events, cultural activities) to drive motivation, engagement, and retention.
- Drive process efficiency and service quality improvements across ER and C&B and support restructuring, compliance, and transformation projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial/Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Political Science, Psychology, or related discipline.
- 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, including roles such as HR Head, HR Business Partner, or HR Operations Lead.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment, with exposure to managing both white- and blue-collar workforce segments.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Employee Relations and Compensation & Benefits.
- In-depth knowledge of Thai labor laws, social security regulations, labor standards, occupational safety requirements, and related statutory frameworks.
- Good understanding of payroll systems, taxation, and statutory deductions.
- Proficiency in Thai and English (written and spoken) to engage with Thailand and Regional stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data analysis and reporting.
