Manager, Client Projects

About the Role

The Manager, Client Projects is a management role responsible for developing and directing the planning and strategic delivery of multiple client implementation projects. This role oversees coordination and management of employees and resources to complete client implementations from initiation to completion within budget and on time, using waterfall or agile methodologies. The role fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation focused on achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution and completion of client implementation projects.
• Manage people who lead standard projects supporting the company-client relationship, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Provide budget analysis, labor planning, and coordination of activities between client and company employees.
• Monitor project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections.
• Oversee installation and client acceptance of capitalized equipment, enterprise software systems, or system integration projects.
• Serve as mediator for internal issues and conflicting priorities across cross-functional teams.
• Determine and define project scope and objectives; prepare budget based on scope and resources.
• Create project management plans and obtain sign-off; track project costs to monitor compliance with budget.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans; provide consistent project updates to stakeholders.
• Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers; assign tasks and communicate expected deliverables.
• Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Measure project performance, oversee project documentation and reporting, and ensure milestones are met and scope changes are managed to budget.
• Drive improvements from project reviews using historical metrics to improve processes and delivery quality.
• Lead and manage a team of project managers and implementation resources; provide guidance, mentorship, and support for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Relevant certifications such as PMI, PMP, CAPM, or Prince2 preferred.
• Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills at senior leadership/executive level (internal and external).
• Excellent organizing, planning, attention to detail, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage conflict with a solution-focused approach and to coordinate activities across teams and stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Advanced professional experience in project management within a global IT services organization.
• Experience managing high-complexity, cross-services/technology domain solutions and the entire project lifecycle.
• Advanced experience using project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices, including agile delivery.
• Proven experience interacting with client stakeholders for planning, progress tracking, communication, escalation, and steering committee reporting.
• Advanced people management and leadership experience within a global IT services organization.
