Application Engineer

About the Role

APPLICATION ENGINEER - NEMs and LABs Team. The candidate will support sales growth by working closely with the NEM and LAB teams in Southeast Asia, covering Network Equipment Manufacturers, Photonics and Optical Component Manufacturers, and their contract manufacturing partners. The role requires solid knowledge in advanced optics, wafer/die level optical probing, and high-speed transceiver testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales support to NEM and LAB customers, including online or onsite demonstrations, presentations, evaluation support, and technical product reviews.
• Represent technical product applications at trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations.
• Participate in field evaluations and ensure customers are properly trained on EXFO testing solutions.
• Assist with automation and integration of EXFO equipment into customers’ manufacturing test environments.
• Work closely with the Business Unit to deliver up-to-date product information to the market and provide direct feedback on competitive information and new feature requests from the field.

Skills

• Knowledge of communications technologies: high-speed transceivers, photonics, active/passive optical components, and PIC technologies.
• Familiarity with testing and characterization methods: IL/PDL measurements, polarization, BERT, scopes, and protocol testing (Ethernet, OTN, etc.).
• Experience automating testing in production environments (LabVIEW, Python, C, C++ preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience with communications test equipment or equivalent.
• Degree in Telecommunications, Optics, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Thai and English written and verbal proficiency.
• Technical aptitude to understand customer use cases and position EXFO solutions; excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-starter, autonomous, well organized, results-oriented, and able to interact with people at all levels; leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

• Approximately 25%–50% travel required.
• Onsite role.
