Snowflake Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will support the design and implementation of scalable data solutions using Snowflake for a variety of client environments, focusing on data warehousing, ELT pipelines, and performance optimization. Lead migrations from legacy or existing systems to modernized Snowflake platforms, collaborate with stakeholders to define data models and governance, integrate Snowflake with 3rd party tools, and provide strategic guidance on best practices including role-based access control, resource monitoring, and data sharing. Work closely with teams across the organisation and with clients to deliver customised data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive and consult clients to identify and deliver right-fit data solutions for use cases.
• Understand, analyse and collect large datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data semantics and metric definitions.
• Design and implement data solutions with data orchestration and ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Work with ETL/orchestration tools (Openflow, Snowpark, Airflow, Fivetran, Pentaho, etc.).
• Support AI solutions by providing a strong data foundation and developing data flows for AI (RAG, Gen BI, AI search / Document AI).
• Fine-tune data queries and optimise performance.
• Develop data models following the data architecture and produce technical solution design documents.
• Ensure solutions comply with client, industry and regulatory security requirements (GDPR, PDPA, HIPAA).
• Apply data governance principles and tools (Snowflake data clean room, dbt, Collibra, etc.).
• Support pre-sales activities and proposal delivery, and work with Solutions Architect/Tech Lead to ensure sprint deliveries.
• Develop and maintain best practices for delivering clean and compliant data pipelines and mentor junior BI/Data Engineers.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging data technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Certified and experienced in Snowflake.
• Experience in consultancy and working across multiple projects and tech stacks.
• Proficient in API integration, SQL and Python to build optimized ELT/ETL pipelines; able to develop a downloader (preferably Python).
• Knowledge of data modelling, data architecture and technical solution design documentation.
• Experience with AI tools to support development (e.g., windsurf, copilot) and developing data flows for AI (RAG, Gen BI); exposure to Cortex AI is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with large, complex datasets and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with customers and internal teams; fast learner across business models and industries.

Additional Information

• Extra points: Thai language fluency and good English communication skills.
• Any certification in AWS or Azure; experience with Fabric, Databricks, BigQuery.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Data Studio, Looker.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• SI Vendor industry experience and first experiences in data modeling.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data, Computer Science or related field; familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning concepts is a plus.
