About the Role

The Senior Director of APAC Regional Logistics reports to the VP of Global Logistics and Fulfillment and leads end-to-end logistics strategy and execution across a complex, multi-country network supporting 8 WD material warehouses, inter-plant logistics, and factory operations across APAC. This role is accountable for ensuring agile, resilient, and cost-efficient logistics operations while navigating regulatory, trade compliance, and geopolitical considerations unique to the region.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute APAC logistics strategy aligned with global supply chain and business growth objectives; optimize material warehouse network supporting APAC factory and procurement requirements (e.g., China, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines).
• Partner with logistics providers on automation and digital strategy to drive operational performance, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Oversee complex international logistics flows including import/export, customs clearance, free-trade and manufacturing/bonded zones; ensure compliance with regional trade regulations, export controls, and regional audit compliance; mitigate geopolitical and tariff risks.
• Lead regional transportation strategy across air, ocean, and ground modes with emphasis on cost, speed, and risk management; manage and optimize relationships with 3PLs and freight forwarders; partner with procurement to balance cost, performance, and capacity.
• Drive best-in-class inbound material management, warehousing, and inter-plant logistics to ensure high service levels to internal factories, low latency, and high inventory accuracy; implement continuous improvement initiatives for cost and productivity.
• Lead deployment and optimization of logistics technologies (TMS, WMS, control towers, real-time tracking) in partnership with regional 3PLs and Global Logistics COE; utilize advanced analytics and AI/ML to drive automation and streamline processes.
• Support APAC regional logistics P&L including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization; monitor key metrics such as warehouse costs, freight spend, and inventory accuracy; identify structural cost improvements while maintaining premium service levels.
• Partner with regional factory operations, procurement, and 3PLs to drive day-to-day operations and transformational agenda; support APAC logistics readiness for new product introductions (NPI); act as a key interface between global Transportation & Trade Ops and regional APAC operations.
• Build and lead a diverse, high-performing regional logistics organization; develop local leadership talent across multiple APAC markets and foster a culture of agility, accountability, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 12–15+ years of logistics/supply chain/operations experience with significant leadership roles in the APAC region.
• Strong experience in high-tech industries (electronics, semiconductors, telecom equipment).
• Proven track record managing complex operational environments and developing high-impact operational teams across APAC.
• Proven experience driving transformational change that improves operational performance, productivity, and reduces cost in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience supporting outsourced operations with 3PLs and external suppliers; familiarity with export/import control regulations in APAC; experience with digital supply chain tools and advanced analytics platforms; Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications.
