Commercial Project Manager

About the Role

As a Commercial Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you review financials, attend team meetings, manage budgets and contracts, and prepare reports. Your role ensures project success through financial oversight and effective communication. This role is responsible for driving commercial excellence, with a strong focus on cost control, overall performance, growth and any other regional commercial topics.

Responsibilities

• Co‑lead the project with the Project Manager to achieve targeted financial results while ensuring alignment with Project Management standards.
• Support the PM in minimizing non‑conformance costs (NCCs) and assess project risks and opportunities.
• Co‑lead contracts, claims, and change orders negotiation together with the PM; address or resolve any commercial issues or disputes promptly and professionally.
• Initiate invoicing according to project milestones and contractual terms; ensure timely cash collection and proactively monitor project cash flow.
• Ensure accuracy of cost and pricing calculations and maintain integrity of all project financial records; apply and monitor financial guarantees / bonds.
• Interface and closely collaborate with stakeholders such as legal, resource planning, supply chain management, logistics, Tax and Accounting, as well as the regional team.
• Analyze and explain project performance and any cost deviations; prepare monthly forecasting reports including liquidity analysis; support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, including SAP, Siemens‑FRG, and local GAAP requirements.
• Perform any other commercial and financial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in project accounting / project controlling required.
• Advanced knowledge in SAP and MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint); Power BI knowledge would be an advantage.
• Awareness of commercial and contractual issues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and a proactive approach in search of solutions.
