About the Role

BDC is looking for a Fire Engineer to act as the primary person for all fire detection and suppression systems within the data center, ensuring 100% operational readiness through hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance supervision, and commissioning activities. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of fire infrastructure—from developing system architectures and SOPs to managing vendor compliance and spare parts—and providing 24/7 incident support to meet customer SLAs and local regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop sequences of operation, system architectures, and maintain accurate as-built documentation as SME for fire systems.
• Lead day-to-day inspection and maintenance of fire detection (VESDA/Smoke), suppression (Gas/Sprinkler), fire pumps, and monitoring panels to ensure 100% operational readiness.
• Perform technical fault analysis and hands-on equipment inspections to resolve issues before escalating to vendors or OEMs.
• Supervise third-party vendors, ensure adherence to work method statements, and participate in testing and commissioning for new integrations.
• Develop and implement fire safety policies and maintenance standards in compliance with local laws, NFPA standards, and Change Control (LOTO) processes.
• Ensure compliance with customer SLAs, escalate incidents within 15 minutes, and issue detailed technical incident reports within 24 hours.
• Provide on-the-job training to junior staff, manage critical spare parts inventory, and represent the company as technical expert in customer and vendor meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5–8 years of experience in a Data Center or high-tech environment (e.g., semiconductor plants).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of fire protection systems, electrical systems, HVAC, standby power (Generators), and UPS.
• In-depth understanding of building management laws, safety regulations, emergency evacuation protocols, and environmental protection standards.
• Proficient in English with ability to write SOPs, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and detailed technical incident reports.
• Ability to use CMMS software and Microsoft Office, and commitment to 24/7 on-call support and onsite emergency response.

Skills / Technical Skills

• VESDA / smoke detection, gas and sprinkler suppression systems, fire pumps and monitoring panels.
• Change Control / LOTO procedures, vendor commissioning and testing.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, equipment inspection and maintenance planning.
• CMMS, Microsoft Office and technical report writing.
