Commodity Buyer Direct Material

Main Tasks

• Manage sourcing activities and supplier relationships for Metal, Rubber, Plastic, and Resin categories
• Handle RFQs, pricing analysis, and commercial negotiations with suppliers
• Support supplier selection, development, and cost optimization initiatives (VA/VE, BCC, cost reduction)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Project Management, R&D, Quality) to ensure timely project execution
• Conduct cost analysis and target price setting (pre- and post-SOP)
• Manage supplier contracts throughout product lifecycle
• Support issue resolution, escalation management, and supplier performance improvement
• Maintain purchasing and supplier data in systems (e.g., SAP, eCONN)
• Work closely with Supply Chain and Global/Regional teams to achieve business targets

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for material cost targets and savings achievements
• Act as the key contact for suppliers and material group locally
• Manage local sourcing, pricing, and supplier contracts
• Support implementation of global material group strategies
• Collaborate with Quality teams (SQD/SQA) to enhance supplier performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in supplier development and cost negotiation
• Background working in multinational/global companies
• Knowledge of SAP and purchasing systems
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and multitasking skills
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)/Chinese is a plus.
• Adaptable and able to work effectively in a dynamic environment
• Flexibility for traveling within Thailand and abroad.
