Specialist - Cloud & Infrastructure Operation

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Specialist to take ownership of our multi-cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this high-impact role, you will shape how we build, run, and scale our infrastructure, championing DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and an automation-first mindset. You will also serve as the bridge between engineering excellence and day-to-day operations, crafting procedures and runbooks for L1/L2 support, managing the service provider responsible for the NOC, and ensuring the Microsoft ecosystem runs seamlessly.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize multi-cloud infrastructure with primary focus on GCP; architect scalable, secure, cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Maintain secondary cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and drive consolidation strategies where relevant.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Teams; ensure identity governance, conditional access policies, and security baselines.
• Support on-premises infrastructure (firewalls, switches, servers, storage) and actively participate in migration of on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible; build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and application delivery.
• Drive containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Develop automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to eliminate repetitive tasks and reduce operational toil; leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate scripting, IaC development, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and propose automation opportunities using AI/ML (intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, predictive capacity planning, auto-remediation) and build AI-powered operational workflows (e.g., Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Vertex AI).
• Write and maintain clear SOPs and runbooks for L1/L2 support teams; manage and oversee outsourced NOC/MSP providers, define SLAs/KPIs, conduct service reviews, and act as L3 escalation point for complex incidents.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and security; lead capacity planning and evaluate new tools, technologies, and vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure/cloud engineering or a similar senior operations role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, or strong AWS experience with a desire to learn GCP.
• Solid knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem: Entra ID, M365 administration, Intune, Exchange Online.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation: Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers / MSPs, including SLA management and performance reviews.
• Strong documentation skills: ability to produce clear SOPs and runbooks for operational teams.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, load balancers).
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and incident/problem/change management processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Comfortable using AI assistants (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) as daily productivity tools and proactive about AI-driven automation.
• English: Proficient in both verbal and written communication.
