Engineering at Coda focuses on high-volume payments and e-commerce: building robust distributed systems, handling traffic spikes, and improving the development lifecycle. Our stack is based on AWS, infrastructure-as-code, microservices (Quarkus), JSON and gRPC, multiple data storage integrations, queues, and OpenTelemetry. Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6 to 12 software engineers.
• Take ownership of one or more key systems and define an aggressive technology roadmap.
• Work closely with Product to align on OKRs and day-to-day priorities.
• Own execution of product and technical goals.
• Coach team members using continuous improvement techniques to build a high-performance team.
• Collaborate with recruiting to attract strong engineering talent.
• Write and review code as necessary and evaluate new technologies quickly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer working on hard problems and 2+ years in a technical lead, manager, architect, or similar leadership role.
• Passion for building products and software, with exemplary written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in an agile environment and ability to analyze and optimize team productivity.
• Strong experience with data technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, message queues) and the ability to query, analyze, and work with data to drive decisions.
• Expert architectural skills and ability to write/review code.
• Able to quickly learn or evaluate new technologies.

Additional Information

• Bonus: experience with extremely high-scale distributed systems, security/cryptography, machine learning and big data, and building systems in the AWS cloud.
