Senior Manager - Commercial

About the Role

Commercial Planning models and forecasts the capacity required by Maersk to meet commercial demands for operational assets, infrastructure, facilities, and of producing a capacity plan. Includes the ability to forecast demands for customers & vendors. Management responsibilities are in addition to job specific accountabilities such as setting direction and developing business & operational areas, developing policies & practices, and implementing business plans. The planning horizon can vary from short to long term dependent on the career stage and goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain capacity plans to meet commercial demand for operational assets, infrastructure and facilities
• Forecast customer and vendor demand and translate forecasts into resource and capacity requirements
• Set direction and develop business and operational areas, policies and practices to implement business plans
• Lead people management activities including hiring, performance appraisals, pay reviews, coaching, mentoring and development for future assignments
• Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges and ensure team performance and results
• Operate independently on routine matters and seek guidance on complex or non-routine topics

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and experience in a relevant functional area with the ability to apply subject-matter expertise to solve common business issues
• Experience managing teams of professionals, frontline workers or administrative staff with responsibility for employee lifecycle decisions
• Proven ability to develop and implement business plans, policies and operational practices
