About the Role
Lixil is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Asia Payroll Processing Manager to own and manage the end-to-end payroll process for employees across multiple countries in Asia. This role ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with local statutory regulations, and continuous improvement of payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end payroll processing for all entities within the Asia region.
- Ensure all payroll transactions (base pay, STI, benefits, taxes, deductions) are processed accurately and on time.
- Validate and approve payroll reports before finalizing each pay cycle.
- Manage resolution of complex payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries with urgency and discretion.
- Stay abreast of and ensure 100% compliance with local statutory regulations, including tax, social security, labor laws, and payroll-related filings.
- Oversee timely and accurate submission of statutory reports and payments to government authorities.
- Lead internal and external payroll audits and act as primary point of contact for auditors.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of payroll processes and controls for SOX/compliance purposes.
- Manage relationships with third-party payroll vendors, ensuring SLAs are met and performance is reviewed.
- Act as liaison between the company, vendors, and local authorities.
- Identify and drive process improvements and system enhancements, including optimizing regional payroll processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior payroll staff.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless data flow for new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
- Partner with Total Rewards on payroll implications of equity, bonuses, and benefits.
- Prepare and distribute standard and ad-hoc payroll reports for management, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of progressive payroll management experience; multi-country payroll experience within Asia is a plus.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of payroll rules, regulations, and statutory requirements for key Asian countries (e.g., China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore).
- Proven experience managing external payroll vendors.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and ability to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- High proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and experience with HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and payroll systems.
