Drive Backend Test Engineering Manager

About the Role

The BE Test process group is responsible for Drive BE Test process including CERT yield improvement and scrap cost reduction, and meeting quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• PCO release and control, including risk management and following SOPs.
• Drive build configuration management per BOM / ECN and customer restrictions (Head, Media, Firmware, Servo code) per SOP.
• Review and provide yield and test-time assumptions to IE/Production via the FROST system.
• Fast review and daily escalation of any CERT yield triggers, providing containment actions and potential solutions to mitigate shipment impact.
• Expedite test-time reduction to meet budget POR or planning assumptions.
• Define and propose rework and BE process-flow qualifications.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce drive scrap cost.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Hard Disk Drive knowledge or drive test processes.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis using various tools.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams and align with OKRs.
• Experienced in team leadership, collaboration, training and coaching.
• Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution and able to work under high pressure.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field.
