About the Role
Omise is seeking a detail-oriented and operationally strong Compensation and Benefits Specialist to support payroll, employee benefits, compensation administration, and compliance activities across Thailand and Southeast Asia. The role ensures accurate and compliant compensation and benefits operations while delivering a high level of employee support, working closely with Finance, People Operations, external payroll vendors, insurance providers, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Payroll and Compensation Operations: Support monthly payroll processing with external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders; prepare and validate payroll inputs including salary adjustments, overtime, allowances, deductions, incentives, reimbursements, and leave balances; coordinate payroll-related changes for onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and employment updates; review payroll reports and employee data to ensure accuracy and compliance; support annual salary review cycles, compensation benchmarking, and prepare compensation reports and HR operational data for leadership and Finance; ensure compensation processes comply with Thai labor law and internal company policies.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefit programs including health insurance, group insurance, wellness programs, and employee support initiatives; coordinate enrollments, removals, claims, renewals, and vendor communications; serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to benefits, payroll, and compensation; support annual benefits reviews and vendor renewal processes; monitor benefit usage and maintain accurate benefits records and documentation.
- Compliance and Employee Lifecycle Support: Support onboarding and offboarding activities related to payroll and benefits administration; coordinate final salary calculations, severance support, social security updates, and required exit documentation; ensure employee records and compensation information remain accurate within HR systems; maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee compensation and personal data; support labor compliance activities, audits, and reporting requirements; assist in updating compensation and benefits policies, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- HR Operations and Process Improvement: Maintain compensation and benefits documentation within HR systems and internal knowledge platforms; support process improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and employee experience; collaborate with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Office Management teams; assist with reporting and workforce analytics related to compensation and benefits operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, HR Operations, or related HR functions.
- Strong understanding of Thai labor law, payroll administration, and employee benefits operations; experience working with payroll vendors and insurance providers.
- Experience supporting onboarding, offboarding, payroll changes, and employee lifecycle administration; experience maintaining HR documentation, compliance records, and operational processes.
- Native level Thai and fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and comfortable handling confidential employee and compensation data.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, HRIS systems, Google Workspace, and payroll tools; basic analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and strong stakeholder management and employee support skills.
Additional Information
- Nice to have: experience working within technology, fintech, startup, or regional organizations; experience supporting multi-country HR operations across Southeast Asia; familiarity with compensation benchmarking or salary data analysis.
