Data Scientist

About the Role

KPMG Thailand’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) banking advisory team advises clients on the development and implementation of data analytic, data-driven business, mathematic modelling, systems and controls. The scope of the work covers data processing, data cleansing, data validating, big data analysis, data visualization and the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The team applies business sense and communication skills to influence how organisations tackle various business challenges. We are looking for experienced consultants to join our growing and talented team.

Responsibilities

• Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
• Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources
• Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and business solutions
• Using statistical tools to develop prediction models to address business needs
• Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing business analytic
• Presenting results in a clear manner
• Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
• Conduct and lead training/meeting sessions to explain concepts to clients
• Coach and lead small teams to achieve assigned tasks
• Perform multi-project work and manage time to meet tight deadlines
• Generate reports and presentations to supervisors/clients
• Build and maintain good relationships with clients and collaborate with Business and IT teams
• Project management, planning, conception, and implementation of related treasury and risk management systems
• Any other related and ad-hoc assignments as assigned

Qualifications

• Master’s in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance
• 2 - 4 years of working experience in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics fields is a plus
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
• Programming experience in PYTHON, R, PowerBI, Tableau and database query languages like SQL is an advantage
• Strong PowerPoint skills
• Strong communication and presentation capability
• Good command of both written and spoken English
