Manager - Insurance Accounting (RTR – Local Closing & Reporting)

About the Role

Position: Manager – Insurance Accounting (RTR – Local Closing & Reporting). Industry: Financial Services / Insurance. Employment Type: Contract. Arbeit Group is supporting a client in hiring a Manager to manage financial close, reconciliation, and reporting processes, focused on insurance-specific accounting for premium, claims, reserves, reinsurance, and investment-related data.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage local closing activities (month-end & period-end reporting)
• Prepare and review journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, reserves, premium adjustments)
• Perform reconciliation of insurance GL accounts (premium, claims, reserves, reinsurance, intercompany)
• Support group consolidation and elimination entries
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data for local and statutory reporting
• Maintain controls, documentation, and audit readiness
• Coordinate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and finance teams
• Support investment data validation and reporting checks
• Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives in reporting and closing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance
• Strong experience in RTR / Local Closing / Financial Reporting
• Experience in insurance accounting (premium, claims, reserves, reinsurance)
• Solid understanding of GAAP / IFRS and accounting principles
• Experience using SAP / Oracle / similar accounting systems
• Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, reporting)
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and communication skills
• Able to work across functions and manage deadlines in fast-paced environments

Skills

• Insurance accounting, local closing and statutory reporting focus
• Systems: SAP / Oracle / similar ERP experience
• Advanced Excel for reconciliation and reporting
• Maintain controls and audit readiness
