Mathematics Specialist

About the Role

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is seeking mathematicians to join our AI training project. You will review AI-generated responses, evaluate reasoning quality and step-by-step problem-solving, and provide expert feedback to help models produce accurate, logical, and clearly explained answers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess AI solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt and identify errors in calculations, methodology, or conceptual understanding.
• Write high-quality mathematical explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on mathematical correctness and reasoning quality.
• Develop AI training content: create detailed prompts and reference responses across various topics to guide AI learning.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to optimize model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Test models for potential inaccuracies or biases and validate reliability across use cases.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Math/Statistics or a related field from a top 100 university.
• Strong knowledge in pure and applied mathematics, proofs, modeling, statistics/probability, and optimization.
• Expert at fact-checking quantitative information using public sources across multiple domains.
• Ability to communicate mathematics clearly and translate advanced theory into real-world solutions.
• Background in research, analytical writing, debate, or programming is preferred.
• English proficiency C1 or above with excellent writing skills.
• For PhD holders: experience developing or critically reviewing complex math content (e.g., problem banks, proofs, textbook sections, research notes).
• Bonus: experience with data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation.
