Responsibilities

• Join client engagements or contribute to product / R&D projects across private, public and social sectors as part of interdisciplinary teams (Data Scientists, Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Designers, Software Engineers and McKinsey experts).
• Support client services leads to identify business hypotheses and metrics, define analytical scope and shape modelling approaches.
• Use math, statistics and machine learning to derive insights and develop data-driven solutions.
• Write highly optimized code and develop world-class data science products for clients and internal teams.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and RAG optimization for Generative AI engagements when applicable.
• Collaborate in team stand-ups, client meetings and problem-solving sessions.

Qualifications

• University students in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent with expected graduation in 2026 or 2027.
• Experience applying machine learning and data mining techniques to large datasets; prior internship or professional experience is a plus.
• Programming focus on machine learning: Python (required), SQL, PySpark (valued).
• Exposure to statistical analysis and modelling algorithms and applying them to new domains is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to develop creative and efficient solutions.
• Good presentation and communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong command of English (verbal and written) and willingness to travel.
