Assistant Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, operation and maintenance of all MEP systems within the data centres, including mechanical, electrical, fire suppression and security systems.
• Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers; develop processing plans and optimise resource allocation.
• Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities; ensure equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and upgrade projects while minimising impact on operations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues promptly and implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
• Ensure equipment operations comply with building codes and environmental, health & safety regulations; maintain documentation and records for audits and certifications.
• Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to improve operational efficiencies; gather and analyse data and reports.
• Support Mechanical Engineering Manager and Critical Services Manager in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance mechanical system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, building services engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in facilities management, engineering or building services; fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Knowledge of data centre mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and compressors.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
